About the role

We are looking to recruit a qualified Engineering Manager, with a degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical engineering or a similar engineering/manufacturing related discipline and has experience of process engineering within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate would work across all of our production sites and be responsible for the engineering function across the business, taking on responsibility for the management of capital and revenue projects and budgets and for ensuring existing equipment and facilities are maintained safely and in compliance with relevant legislations.

The role also requires the successful candidate to be able to:

  • Manage the design, costing, installation and implementation of all aspects of annual maintenance and CAPEX project work required.
  • Be actively involved in the day-to-day delivery of allocated projects.
  • Ensure all operational sites and new installations comply with the requirements of H&S legislation, IPPC permit conditions, HACCP, and UFAS accreditation.
  • Develop functional and technical specifications for all elements of work you are responsible for.
  • Identify opportunities for improved performance, efficiencies, and cost savings.
  • Manage the engineering repairs and maintenance budget.
  • Develop best engineering and maintenance practices across the business
  • Manage engineering purchases and maintenance contracts across the business, ensuring the most cost effective and compliant contracts are achieved.

Skill and Experience Required

The successful Engineering Manager will have the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent higher education level) in chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering or a similar engineering/manufacturing related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a manufacturing environment, preferably food or FMCG.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with health and safety regulations, ATEX/DSEAR and CDM.
  • A background in animal feed manufacturing or milling would be advantageous.
  • Recognised H&S qualification such as NEBOSH.
  • Strong change management experience and skills
  • Ability to be hands on as required.
  • Flexibility to travel to all company locations.
