JOB TITLE: Hygiene Operative


REPORTS TO: Senior Product Developer




To maintain the development kitchen area to a high hygienic standard


RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY TASKS: Perform the following duties to the highest quality to maintain the new product development kitchen



1.      Wipe/Clean the stainless steel worktops in the development kitchen, presentation kitchen, pot wash and pantry areas

2.      Empty all bins, and ensure they are kept clean and tidy

3.      Sweeping and mopping all floors

4.      Wipe/clean the fridges and freezers in the development kitchen (large and small fridges/freezers) to include the inside/outside and all handles

5.      Wipe/clean the sinks and draining boards in the presentation kitchen, development kitchen and the pot wash)

6.      Clean the splash backs and walls surrounding all hobs

7.      Wipe/clean all electric and gas hobs

8.      Empty the pot wash and chef’s table dishwashers and return items to cupboards

9.      Ensure the chef’s table cupboards are organised with items in their correct storage place

10.   Empty the fat traps and clean

11.   Wipe/clean the robocoupe and silverson outer units

12.   Refill consumables (blue towel, plastic spoons, washing up liquid, hairnets, beard snoods and cleaning spray bottles



1.      Ensure the glass wall in the presentation kitchen is clean and free from finger marks

2.      Ensure the ovens are clean and free of food debris

3.      Keep the main entrance to the kitchen clean and tidy

4.      Check windowsills are clean and clear

5.      Wipe all cupboard fronts in the presentation kitchen and development kitchen

6.      Check and wipe out microwaves

7.      Replace blue ingredient trays and clean

8.      Clean the water jugs that are stored on the ingredient trays



1.      Deep clean both ovens in the development kitchen using oven cleaner



  1. Ensure all cleaning records are updated on a daily basis
  2. Request cleaning products when required via the senior product developer



  1. Demonstrate a consistent approach to food hygiene and health & safety procedures throughout the workplace.
  2. Portray a positive image of the company and its values in a professional manner at all times.
  3. Any other duties which might reasonably be requested in association with the role in order to meet the needs of the business.
  4. Adhere to all company rules and procedures, paying particular attention to health and safety.
