Management Accountant

Carrs Billington Agriculture (Operations) have an opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team, based at our office in Liverpool.

In the short term the role will involve taking a lead role reconciling our newly implemented ERP system to prior year accounts, along with reconciliation of all variance & control accounts prior to year end. In the medium term ERP system work will move to developing reporting and accounting processes for the new system.

In the medium to longer term the role will be responsible for assisting with the production of monthly management accounts and other management information to support the business operations.

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) and the role will also involve working with the operational teams across all of our locations to ensure they are fully supported with the best possible information and provided with in-depth analysis to support improvements to site efficiencies. A key aspect will also be to challenge existing accounting information and look to improve control, processes and system developments.

The successful Management Accountant will have the following skills and experience;

  • Experience of producing management accounts in a multi-site environment, VAT returns and controlling account reconciliations.
  • Experience of agriculture or volume-based manufacturing and stock accounting would be advantageous.
  • The ability to get into the detail and prepare high quality and accurate financial information.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Able to drive an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Strong decision making, analytical and financial control skills.
  • Must also be able to travel to all of our locations (primarily our mills at Carlisle, Lancaster and Stone) so a full driving licence & own transport is essential.
