Whilst we know that EPC make the best chutney it is always great to receive accolades recognising this.
In December, Good Housekeeping voted our branded The English Provender Co. joint winner for the best caramelised onion chutney. We put a lot of love into all of our chutneys and pickles so we’re extremely grateful for the fantastic feedback on our recipe.
The Good Housekeeping Institute said:
Red onions give this chutney a sweet aroma with a zingy hit from the white wine and balsamic vinegar. Sharp in flavour but balanced with a nice caramelised sweetness. Testers enjoyed the slight bite to the onions.
The other winning chutney, was of course, another EPC produced chutney, M&S Caramelised Onion Chutney.
The Good Housekeeping Institute commented:
This winning chutney is glossy, sticky and chunky, with lots of red and white onion. Testers enjoyed its well-balanced aroma and the appley, caramelised flavour, with a slight acidity to cut through the sweet onions. We enjoyed the softened onions that had a slight crunch and jammy texture.
Thanks to the testers and tasters at Good Housekeeping, we’re proud to make your winning chutneys.
