Our People: Daniel Morris, Marketing Executive at Billington Foodservice.

Billington Group would not be where it is without its amazing teams. In this ‘Our People’ section, we’ll be sharing a bit more about the diverse roles across our businesses and providing some insight into what makes Billington people tick!

Name:
Daniel Morris

Job title:

I’m a Marketing Executive at Billington Foodservice.

How long have you been with Billington Group?

2 ½ years.

Describe a typical day in your role:

I’m sure people hear this a lot and it’s a bit of a cliche, but in our marketing team everyday is different. One minute we’re pulling together insight through menu mapping, and the next we’re creating a full advertising campaign for a client, showing them how some of our products fit perfectly into their menu.

What’s the best part of your job?

Without doubt it’s the people. We have so many characters and we’re all really supportive of each other, it’s a proper team effort here at Billington.

What makes the food/agriculture sector exciting to work in?

I really enjoy the depth of the insight we get to have into the foodservice industry, I find it really interesting. I also like the problem solving side of things, where we work together with our suppliers to make sure we deliver the best for our customers.

What do you think the next big thing for food/agriculture will be?

Low sugar or zero sugar desserts, there’s been such a big shift into healthier lifestyles over the last couple of years, and next up to follow that trend will be the sweeter things.

Can you describe Billington Group in three words?

Innovated, driven and adaptable.

Now a bit more about you….

Coffee or tea?

Coffee, black and sugar free.

Best sandwich filling?

Hash brown, bacon, sausage and brown sauce all tucked perfectly into a crusty French stick.

Favourite meal?

Cheeseburger, chips and onion rings. Simple stuff, but so tasty.

Favourite weird food combinations?

I like to dip my sandwiches in my coffee. Try it – you’ll thank me later.
