These are really challenging times for all of us.
It doesn’t matter which sector or industry you’re in, the effects of the coronavirus pandemic have been felt by everyone, with huge sacrifices being made right across society to save lives.
Even though the past month has been tough, there’s still been those occasional heartwarming moments — such as the fundraising efforts of Capt. Tom Moore, or the weekly doorstep ‘clap for carers’.
This outpouring of gratitude is only as a result of the amazing work being done by all of our key workers, whether that’s supermarket staff, care home workers, cleaners, technicians, frontline NHS staff, or another crucial group helping to keep everything ticking over.
A response taskforce to help NHS staff
Those on the critical care scene deserve our admiration and support for their awe-inspiring work in such particularly dangerous and challenging circumstances.
Recently, Sarah, Duchess of York, in collaboration with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, mobilised a response team to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The idea — to connect suppliers of essential and luxury goods with NHS staff on the frontline. This is to ensure they have easy access to both necessities as well as the occasional indulgence, whilst being able to keep their priority on their patients.
That’s where we were able to come in! Anything that can be done to make our key workers’ lives easier at this time is a sound cause — so we were only too happy to provide some supplies as part of The Duchess’ scheme.
We got involved through Glorious! Soups, part of our TSC Foods brand, by donating over 400 soups to critical care workers at Hillingdon, Hammersmith and St Mary’s Hospitals.
We’re sure the soups will provide a scrumptious lunch as the staff take a well-earned break from the incredible work that they’re doing.
As we all look forward to normality returning at some point, stay safe for now!
