Strengthening Partnerships Across Our Supply Chain

We brought together suppliers from across our business for The Billington Group Food Division Supplier Conference, an important opportunity to connect, share insights and strengthen the partnerships that sit at the heart of what we do.

The day was designed to go beyond updates and presentations. It was about creating space for open conversation, collaboration and shared understanding, recognising that strong relationships across our supply chain play a vital role in delivering quality, consistency and long-term value.

Throughout the conference, attendees heard from senior leaders across the Group, including Gary Blake, CEO, and Stephen Hughes, CFOO, alongside colleagues from across the business. Together, they shared perspectives on the priorities shaping our organisation, the standards we are committed to upholding, and the role collaboration plays in driving responsible growth.

“Bringing our suppliers together like this is about partnership,” said Peter Dean. “When we take the time to share ideas, align on expectations and learn from one another, we build stronger relationships and that ultimately helps us deliver better products and better outcomes for our customers.”

The programme also featured insights from key teams across the Group, including Katie Hansen, EPC’s Central Lead Technical Compliance Manager, who spoke about maintaining robust technical standards; Carl Steckerl, Business Lead – Environmental, Social and Governance, who highlighted the importance of responsible and sustainable practices; and Laura McDermott, Group People Director, who shared how the work of the Billington Foundation supports communities and reflects our values beyond the business.

Together, these perspectives reinforced the principles at the heart of our Growing for the Future plan, embedding sustainability, responsibility and long-term thinking into every part of our operations.

By bringing suppliers and teams together in one place, the conference helped build trust, strengthen alignment and encourage a shared commitment to doing the right thing, not just for our business, but for our customers, communities and the wider industry.

Events like this reflect our belief that long-term success is built on collaboration. When we work as partners, share knowledge and challenge one another constructively, we are better placed to innovate, improve and grow responsibly together.
