Carr’s Billington, part of The Billington Group, has announced the acquisition of Agri-Lloyd and Farmsense, strengthening its livestock offering and broadening the specialist knowledge and advice it provides to farmers.
Previously owned by Tangerine Holdings Ltd, both businesses have a proud family-business heritage, strong roots in the agricultural communities they serve and a long-standing commitment to their people, making them a natural cultural and strategic fit for Carr’s Billington.
Agri-Lloyd is a specialist livestock nutrition business with more than 40 years’ experience developing and manufacturing nutritional solutions for farmers across the UK and Ireland. Established in 1984, it has built a strong reputation for product quality, innovation and practical solutions that support livestock health and performance.
Farmsense specialises in animal health and nutritional solutions, with a particular focus on alternatives to traditional antibiotic use. Founded in 1991 and based in the UK, the business develops and manufactures evidence-based products designed to support animal health and performance across multiple livestock species.
The acquisition supports Carr’s Billington’s future growth strategy and strengthens its presence across the UK, Ireland and continental Europe. Debbie Hewison, Managing Director of Carr’s Billington, said:

The acquisition will provide continuity for customers, with existing products, services, contacts and day-to-day operations continuing as normal.
Agri-Lloyd will continue to operate as an independent business under the existing leadership of Divisional Director James Ryall, who will retain responsibility for sales, manufacturing operations in Leominster, England, and the warehouse operation in Dublin, Ireland.
Customers and sales representatives will continue to work with their existing contacts and receive the same high level of support. The transaction relates specifically to the Agri-Lloyd and Farmsense businesses and does not affect the ownership or day-to-day operations of the wider Carr’s Billington or Billington Group businesses.
The acquisition brings together three businesses with a shared commitment to agriculture, creating new opportunities to combine expertise, strengthen innovation and provide farmers with an even broader range of products, knowledge and support across the UK, Ireland and continental Europe.
